CPL (Calibrated Pulsed Light)
CPL (Calibrated Pulsed Light) is a non-invasive skin rejuvenation system that uses light to treat a large range of skin concerns.
CPL is similar to IPL, however, the Xlase Plus Calibrated Pulsed Light (CPL) system has been proven to be more powerful and efficient than other IPL systems available.
Benefits of CPL
- Non-invasive
- Short sessions (30-40 minutes)
- No downtime – return to activities immediately
- Provides gradual results that look natural and last a long time
- Provides a revitalised and youthful appearance for the entire face
Acne
A beam of light is released as a single pulse or series of short pulses.
The emitted light destroys acne-causing bacteria within the skin. It calms overactive grease glands (another major cause of acne). It also boosts your skin’s natural internal cleansing system, so you can keep the bacteria at bay permanently.
This results in reduced acne and acne scarring, so you can have the clear, smooth skin you’ve always wanted.
With this treatment, there is no pain and no downtime – so you can get back to your normal life as quickly as possible.

Rosacea
Rosacea is an inflammatory condition that causes redness, flushing and visible blood vessels – usually on the face. Generally, more women suffer from this condition than men.
To treat this condition, short, safe bursts of light are directed at the skin. The system filters the light to ensure the wavelengths used are absorbed by haemoglobin in the blood in your problem vessels. The light is converted to heat, which destroys the protein in the wall of the blood vessels. This causes the vessels to gradually disappear after treatment. To ensure the best light transmission, a thin layer of gel (like the type used in ultrasound examinations) is applied to your skin before treatment.
The light energy emanating from our CPL device also heats the collagen fibres in your skin. This encourages the production of new collagen and improves blood flow to the affected area.

Pigmentation and Hyperpigmentation
Hyperpigmentation typically appears as dark patches or spots that cause the skin tone to appear uneven.
Pigmentation refers to colouring of the skin – for example, sun spots/liver spots.
CPL targets the melanin in the skin, selectively heating the areas that are darker in colour to remove them. It works in a very localised way, only targeting the darker areas without affecting the skin next to it.
As the molecules containing the pigment break up, they are reabsorbed safely by the body. With repeated treatments, the spot will begin to bend in with the rest of the skin, reducing its visibility.Â

Photorejuvenation
The act of rejuvenating aged skin with light.
When it comes to photo rejuvenation, CPL is the gold standard. Its precision and speed of execution puts it miles ahead of other methods.
The light energy emitted by the CPL device stimulates collagen production. It improves the tone, texture and brightness of the skin in a non-invasive manner.
It can be used to improve some of the most common skin concerns:
– Hyperpigmentation
– Sun damage
– Broken capillaries
– Rosacea
– Large pores
– Fine lines and wrinkles
– Uneven skin tone
Impressive results, with no downtime.

Hair Removal
Some individuals prefer IPL hair removal methods to laser hair removal.
Both methods target melanin in the hair follicle, destroying the hair at the source. You may see results in as little as 3 weeks, and results are permanent for many people.Â
Not every skin tone is suitable for IPL hair removal, so speak to your practitioner about which is the best option for you.
We also offer laser hair removal services.

How many sessions will I need?
The number of sessions you will need will depend on what you are treating, and your desired results.
Generally, between 4 and 6 sessions may be needed. Sessions should be spaced between 3 and 6 weeks apart.
How should I prepare for CPL?
Ensure that you avoid sun exposure in the weeks before and after your treatment – always wear a high-factor sunscreen.
