Eleni’s Ultimate Pre-Wedding Skincare Routine
The lead up to your wedding is the perfect time to establish an effective skincare routine. Here is my guide to getting perfect skin on your big day.
Having healthy-looking skin is a big part of helping you to feel happy and confident on your wedding day. Mounting stress levels in the build-up to the wedding can have an impact on your skin because rising cortisol levels can result in spots. Even if you don’t have problematic skin, we still advise you to begin a pre-wedding skincare regimen three months before your big day. This will allow you to confidently make changes to your existing skincare routine without worrying about adverse reactions. If you suffer from acne, dry skin, or any other skin condition, then we suggest a minimum of six months to get this under control, so your skin is clear and glowing on your wedding day.

Step 1: Cleanse
Cleansing is the foundation of any good skincare routine. We have several cleansers that have been developed to suit all skin types.
Gentle Cleanse: Soothing Natural Daily Cleanser
This is a gentle cleansing lotion with fragrant sweet orange oil. It is formulated with natural skin-calming properties and antioxidants to care for your skin. Gentle Cleanse is suitable for all skin types, and if you suffer from sensitive or dry skin, then this is the perfect cleanser for you.
Cleanse: Daily Glycolic Cleanser
If you are worried about breakouts in the build-up to your wedding, then this is the cleanser for you. Cleanse contains salicylic acid, which removes impurities and excess oil. It also contains natural, clinically proven Alpha Hydroxy Acids – glycolic and citric acid – to gently remove any build-up of dead skin cells. This combination provides a deep, exfoliating clean, increasing cell turnover to reveal new, younger-looking skin.
Purifying Gel: Deep Cleansing
If you suffer from particularly oily or acne-prone skin, then we recommend that you use our Purifying Gel as your daily cleanser in the lead-up to your wedding day. Purifying Gel is a high-strength hydroxy acid cleanser, designed to clear congestion and reduce inflammation. It contains glycolic, salicylic, lactic, and citric acids which remove impurities and excess oil while cleansing the skin and increasing cell turnover.

Step 2: Brighten
Once you have cleansed, we recommend applying a brightening Vitamin C serum to provide antioxidant protection to help boost radiance and even out your skin tone. Vitamin C is particularly important in the run up to weddings due to its role in our skin’s synthesis of collagen, the protein that gives our skin and our blood vessels structure. Collagen is what makes our capillaries strong and less prone to breakage. Healthy capillaries mean a lower chance of redness and red is indeed the first colour that shows up on camera! We have two Vitamin C products in our range.
Brighten
Brighten is a light daily serum that is easily absorbed by the skin, where it offers antioxidant properties to brighten the complexion. It contains stabilized L-ascorbic acid which is a form of Vitamin C that is absorbed by the skin quickly and easily, guaranteeing greater potency.
Brighten Plus
Brighten Plus is a highly potent Vitamin C serum with maximum antioxidant benefits for the skin. It contains L-ascorbic acid AND ferulic acid. Ferulic acid is another powerful antioxidant and works brilliantly in conjunction with L-ascorbic acid, to give a boosting effect to your skin. These two powerful antioxidants combine to make a highly potent serum, suitable for use on the face and neck.

Step 3: Protect
This next step is not just about having great skin on your wedding day. Protecting your skin from the sun is always essential if you want a healthy and glowing complexion, particularly if you are using products containing Vitamin C or retinol.
SPF 50: Daily Tinted Broad Spectrum Sun Protection
Protect your skin from the harmful effects of UV rays with this lightweight, yet highly effective sunscreen. Wear it throughout the day and allow its clinically proven ingredients to increase your cell turnover and provide hydration for your skin. It is water-resistant and contains clinically proven Alpha Hydroxy Acids, citric and lactic acid, to gently increase cell turnover. The natural tint will give your skin an even appearance – and its water-resistant too, so you can be ready for anything.
–
Step 4: Exfoliate
Remember to only exfoliate once or twice a week and avoid grainy scrubs. The last thing you want to do in the build-up to your wedding day is upset your skin by over-exfoliating because this can lead to redness, flakiness, and breakouts.
Exfoliate: Microexfoliator
Exfoliate includes now includes six exfoliating agents for enzymatic, mechanical, and chemical exfoliation. Papaya, mango, and pumpkin enzymes provide gentle enzymatic exfoliation, quartz and bamboo provide mechanical exfoliation and glycolic acid provides chemical exfoliation. This combination provides effective exfoliation, yet it is also gentle and hydrating.

Barrier Repair: Moisturiser
This luxury silky moisturiser contains clinically proven ingredients to keep your skin optimally hydrated and in perfect condition. Barrier Repair contains tripeptide-1 and tetrapeptide 7, biomimetic peptides to help stimulate growth factors and collagen synthesis, to protect and help restore the skin’s natural moisture barrier and suppress inflammation. Natural tara seed extract works deep within the skin to boost moisture levels and help prevent future dehydration. It is also high in vitamin C and B.
Nourish PM: Recovery Night Cream
Lay back, relax and let our Recovery Night Cream provide some much-needed extra care for your skin. Step 6: Tailor your routine
A regular routine is always the key to better skin. We have outlined the ideal pre-wedding skincare routine above, but we know that everyone’s skin is different. Book an appointment at the clinic and we will carry out a skin analysis so we can develop a routine developed to your specific skincare concerns.

In-Clinic Treatments
The build-up to your wedding might also be the right time to consider clinic-based treatments to boost the outcomes of the skincare routine we’ve outlined above. A course of monthly facials, peels or needling treatments in the three months leading up to the wedding can be hugely beneficial. A course of chemical peels can help by reducing dark spots and increasing radiance. Micro-needling is ideal for plumping the skin and can reduce the appearance of acne scars over the course of several months.
If your skin is in good condition and your skincare routine is already working for you then it is all about maintenance. Keep up your routine and consider booking in some regular facials at the clinic to enhance your glow on the big day.
If you only have a few weeks to go until the wedding, don’t panic! There are still things you can do to make visible changes to your skin. As well as the products we have described, we also offer a range of targeted treatments in the clinic which can help if you are worried about a skin condition such as acne, eczema, or rosacea. Even if you have left it to the very last minute, we can help.
Our deep cleansing facial will leave your skin visibly improved – brighter, clearer, and fresher. Our Celluma LED Healing Treatment will improve skin tone, quality and texture as well as improving the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Or you could try our Hydro Facial which combines 7 different advanced technologies for a highly versatile facial that can be customised to suit all skin types. These treatments require little or no downtime, so they are a fantastic option if you are looking for a last-minute boost before your wedding day.

Healthy Lifestyle
Other things that can help your skin include a healthy sleep routine, so your skin has time to replenish itself, and a well-balanced diet with plenty of vegetables and probiotic, fermented food. Remember to drink plenty of water because your skin needs to stay hydrated, and make sure your skin has time to recover from a boozy hen-do! Exercise and meditation are also great for keeping your stress levels under control. The most important thing to remember is to feel happy in your skin on your wedding day.
Whatever stage you are at, get in touch to arrange an appointment so we can develop a bespoke skincare routine including in-clinic treatments and the right skincare products for you to use at home.
