IPL (CPL) Acne

Acne is often the result of a hormonal imbalance. This skin condition can be very distressing, robbing the individual of their self-esteem. At Eleni London, we want to give you back your clear complexion and build your confidence again. We use Calibrated Pulsed Light laser technology to achieve excellent results for all skin types.

Treatment Information

CPL (Calibrated Pulsed Light) is a non-invasive skin rejuvenation system that uses light to treat a large range of skin concerns.

You have probably already heard of IPL, or Intense Pulsed Light therapy. CPL is very similar. However, because the laser is more controlled, this system is more powerful and efficient than other IPL systems available.

CPL technology is one of the safest acne treatments available. The targeted laser is excellent at tackling the root causes of acne without affecting the layer of skin on top. Two of the leading causes of acne are bacteria and overproduction of oil. CPL effectively treats both of these causes.

IPL (CPL) sends rapid pulses of light to penetrate the skin. It is absorbed by haemoglobin, a substance within the blood. This in turn heats the area, which kills any acne-causing bacteria. It also creates a reaction within the sebaceous glands – the glands that produce oil. The reaction slows down the overall rate of oil production within your skin. Therefore, IPL (CPL) acne treatments do not only reduce existing acne, they also prevent future outbreaks. In addition, your body responds to the treatment by flooding the area with collagen. This will improve the appearance of any scarring from previous outbreaks.

With this treatment, there is no pain and no downtime – so you can get back to your normal life as quickly as possible.

How many sessions will I need?

The number of sessions required will depend on the severity of your acne. We will put together a personalised treatment plan for you during your consultation.

When will I see results from my IPL (CPL) Acne Treatment?

Some people will see results after their first treatment, others may take a few weeks to begin seeing changes in their skin.

In the weeks after your treatment, you can expect to see a smoother complexion and an improvement in your acne. Your skin will also look healthier.

Is there anything I need to do after my IPL (CPL) Acne Treatment?

We recommend using SPF 50 for at least 30 days after your treatment, as your skin will be more sensitive to UV rays during this time.

To further enhance your results, we recommend using specialist skincare products.
